Melania Trump has decorated the White House for Christmas, but according to critics on Twitter the red choice was too risky.
The first lady posted photos and a video on Twitter to showcase the holiday spirit flowing through 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with the 2018 presidential "American Treasure" themed decorations.

“This is a joyous time of year when we decorate the White House for the Christmas Season,” said First Lady Melania Trump. “Our theme honors the heart and spirit of the American people. Thank you to the many volunteers and staff who worked hard to decorate the halls of the People’s House in Christmas cheer. On behalf of my family, we wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
The sophisticated display drew comparisons to Stephen King classics "The Shining" and "Carrie," as well as "Suspiria," "War of the Worlds" and Netflix's most recent horror series, "The Haunting of Hill House."
