Fox News Host Gleefully Celebrates the Firing of 900 'Millennial Snowflakes' Over Zoom: 'I Love This So Much!'

Here’s a Fox News story that has nothing to do with Trump, vaccine mandates, or the War on Christmas, but tells you everything you need to know about the culture inside that network and the pro-corporate cruelty of their personalities.

For those who may have missed it, Vishal Garg the CEO of the mortgage company Better.com, apologized yesterday for firing 900 workers earlier this month during a mass Zoom call. What?! From CBS News:

In the video, Garg sits alone at a white table, dressed in business-casual slacks, shirt and a blue vest, and confides that he has previously had to fire people, saying that he had cried. “This time I hope to be stronger,” he told the terminated workers.

Garg has since apologized, saying that he “blundered the execution,” although it’s not the first time he’s been an asshole to his employees. Last year, he emailed his workforce: “HELLO — WAKE UP BETTER TEAM. You are TOO DAMN SLOW. You are a bunch of DUMB DOLPHINS and … DUMB DOLPHINS get caught in nets and eaten by sharks. SO STOP IT. STOP IT. STOP IT RIGHT NOW. YOU ARE EMBARRASSING ME.”

Because I don’t follow business news, the first I was made aware of this mass firing was a clip floating around on Fox News yesterday, where one of their hosts, Emily Compagno, seemed to celebrate the crassness of the mass firing. Watch this:

She “loved” the callous firing of 900 people over Zoom during the holiday season. I didn’t quite understand what she meant by, “their theft was no longer tolerated,” and I assumed that maybe these 900 people were also involved in some sort of skimming scheme. That was not the case. The theft to which Compagno is referring is, as Garg put it, “stealing from our customers by not being productive.”

In other words, Compagno is celebrating the fact that Garg fired 900 DUMB DOLPHINS who were EMBARASSING him by helping their kids with their schoolwork during a pandemic instead of working double-time to pad the bottom line for executives and investors of the company, which had just received a cash infusion of about $750 million ahead of its decision to go public with around a $7 billion valuation.

But you know, “good riddance” to all those “millennials and Zs” who are all probably “snowflakes.” I should also add that my favorite part was where Campagno characterizes the decision to fire 900 people over Zoom as the “safe choice” for the Better.com CEO because doing so in person or through HR might have required security.
