This year saw the absolute collapse of Sony’s weird experiment with making Spider-Man movies that don’t even have Spider-Man in them. Literally none of them were safe. Madame Web started the bed-sh*tting, Venom: The Last Dance surprisingly didn’t help things despite people kind of liking those, and Kraven the Hunter somehow managed to underperform Madame Web, which seems almost impossible. Did they forget to send it to movie theaters? Anyway, without looking into why these films were dead on arrival thanks to a clearly bankrupt creative process, Sony has gone ahead and blamed critics for their demise. (Variety)
