Jason Statham is an unstoppable force and an immovable object. The first rule of Statham movies is don’t be the dirtbag who harms someone he loves. The second rule is to stay out of his way while he’s hunting down the dirtbag who harmed someone he loves. The third rule is it’s all gonna hurt no matter what.

A Working Man looks like pretty typical Statham fare, by which I mean awesome. It also stars David Harbour, Michael Pea, and Eve Mauro. It’s directed by David Ayre, who directed Statham in last year’s The Beekeeper. Expect more of the same. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

A Working Man opens in theaters on March 28th.

It must be nice to be married to Paul W.S. Anderson. You can wake up any morning and say something like, “Babe, I’m bored. Let’s make another movie together.” Then he will collaborate with George R.R. Martin to come up with this logline for In The Lost Lands:

A sorceress travels to the Lost Lands in search of a magical power that allows a person to transform into a werewolf.

What?

This trailer looks exactly as you would expect it to look. You either enjoy these PWSA/Jovovich joints, or you don’t. This one gets bonus points for having Dave Bautista in it.

For the record, it probably doesn’t suck to be married to Milla Jovovich, either.

In The Lost Lands opens in theaters soon.

It felt a little like vindication at the end of last year when some of Shudder’s movies hit critics’ Top 10 lists. Some of us have stuck with Shudder since before the network was producing/distributing anything anyone would call “watchable.” Whether or not Dark Match is part of the upward swing or a step back remains to be seen. And it probably depends on how you feel about wrestler Chris Jericho, who stars in this movie about a group of pro-wrestlers who are the guests of honor at a match held by Satanists.

Dark Match will premiere on Shudder on January 31st. Start planning your watch party now.

I’ll admit I’m conflicted about this week’s lagniappe. On one hand, I love Clancy Brown and The CW has been responsible for some of my favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Horror TV shows. On the other hand, do we need another feel-good show about cops?

Good Cop/Bad Cop probably won’t last more than one season. But, that’s what I said about Fox’s Animal Control and that show is on Season 3. So…
