Are Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover the Most Stable Reality TV Couple Ever?

When Bravo favorites Paige DeSorbo (Summer House) and Craig Conover (Southern Charm) started dating, fans everywhere rejoiced. From day one, these two just seemed to click, despite the challenge of being long-distance (she lives in New York, he lives in Charleston, and neither of them really wants to move any time soon). But now that a couple of years have passed and they’ve appeared on and off of each other’s respective shows, everyone’s getting restless and wondering if it can last. Everyone except the two of them, that is.

On a recent episode of Summer House, Conover acknowledged that he and DeSorbo may break up eventually if they can’t take the next step of living together in the same city.

“I love Paige, but I’m almost becoming the best version of myself, and so if we were out, we work out, but if we don’t, it’s not the end of the world … In my perfect world, there would be a little more security to being, like, one day we’re gonna get married and have kids. She has told me that’s what we’re going to do, and so I have to tailor my insecurities and impatience and either believe her or not,” he told costar Kyle Cooke.

It was presented as a shocking admission that might upset DeSorbo, but she continues to prove that she’s an independently-minded woman with a healthy dose of emotional maturity. In that same episode, she said she didn’t want Conover helping her to pay her rent because she didn’t want him to have any power in the relationship to hold over her head, and when asked about his comments, she was unfazed:

“Honestly, I wasn’t upset about it at all because I think everything he said I agreed with. Yes, in statistics people could potentially break up. We have a higher rate because we do do long-distance, but I think if we weren’t acknowledging that we would be really naive,” she said. “I think Craig and I do a good job of talking about all the things that maybe are taboo or scary to talk about before big life events. So, I was thankful that he said that because I feel the same way. I know he felt that way and so it, honestly, put me at ease.”

She also said “it’s easy to fall into” the fantasy that their fame makes them a better couple.

“It’s very like, ‘Everyone loves you;’ ‘Oh my god, this is so romantic;’ ‘This is the coolest thing,’” she said. But she’d “rather have something real and tangible.” This, she thinks, is what went wrong for her costars Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke.

“They loved the limelight of everyone loving them, that they weren’t doing the real stuff at home so it caught up with them,” she said.

She expressed this to Hubbard on the most recent episode, warning her that it wasn’t too late to call the wedding off (which, as we know now, is eventually what happened), which solidified her status of the Girl’s Girl to end all Girl’s Girls, as she and Hubbard aren’t exactly BFFs.
