Sabi van Hemert is a Rotterdam based artist whose baby-like sculptures you willdefinitelyremember. Funny and weird at the same time, his creations hide behind their shapes, representing a fusion between human babies and animals, leaving you guessing and wondering, but always wanting to explore some more.
The hidden meaning of his works, creates a more complex relation between viewer and sculpture, evoking its surreal character, rough, but vulnerable at the same time. The materials he uses to render the skin-like effect are different, from plastic, to clay, or leather, depending on the artist’s emotions and associations.
