Some people love to sew division. They want people fighting over things. This is the case in politics. Still, at least things in politics, like reproductive rights, are worth fighting over. What doesn’t make sense is getting all worked up because people did or didn’t like a movie about space aliens wearing capes. Unfortunately, the internet feeds the outrage machine better than most things. People can rant and rave about how one multi-million dollar executive or creator is better or worse than the other and wrack up hundreds of thousands of views from people looking for an excuse to be mad.

The people making these movies and/or TV shows are way more supportive and chill about it. They’re all trying to keep working in a business that will quickly cast aside people with ease. They work together, sometimes on comic book films and sometimes not. More often than not, they aren’t planning each other’s downfall. Some people would love you to believe that Zack Snyder and James Gunn are at each other’s throats because Gunn is taking over the DCU. Both men have made it clear that isn’t the case. They’ve even supported each other publicly and aren’t the only ones.

Amy Adams was an integral part of Zack Snyder’s DCU, playing Lois Lane. She’s really wonderful in those movies because she’s really wonderful in everything. Her time may have been cut short, despite Snyder having… other plans for her character. Still, Adams is not giving up on the Big Blue Boy Scout for good. The Snyderverse wasn’t even her first role in the franchise (she played a villain in Smallville). As she recently told Variety, “I’m just a big fan of the franchise, always.”

Adams’s fandom extends to unwavering support for new Lois Lane, Rachel Brosnahan. “I love her. She’s gonna be great. Hopefully, the role will be infused with her sensibility and her natural humor and strength and wit,” Adams said of the Marvelous Mrs. Mazel star. “I’m really looking forward to it. I really like her.” You love to see that kind of support! It makes things feel nicer and is antithetical to all the neckbeards who would tell you otherwise.

While Adams is onboard for a new Superman, she did make a point of praising Henry Cavill’s take on the character. “Henry was a really brilliant Superman,” she explained. “I offer every Superman luck and stuff, but I think he was great. I just wanted to say that. It’s so in his spirit.” I don’t disagree! It’s also wonderful to know we’ll have a new take on the character. We can have both, and it’s better to be excited about that than fight about it.
