It distills the essence of Statham and injects it into a neurodivergent accountant played by Ben Affleck. His name is Christian Wolff, for God’s sake!

Look: The Accountant was a modest hit when it was released in 2016, earning $86 million at the box office. But its cult following comes from cable reruns and 3-month stints on Netflix, where it’s been rewatched more than actual accountants rewatch Excel tutorial videos. It is a masterpiece. The sequel will never live up to it, but if it’s half as good, it’ll still be the best action movie you will quote to your children at Thanksgiving.
