Three Trailers: Mary-Louise Parker And Ayo Edebiri Are The Team-Up We've Always Needed

Walt Disney Studios dropped the trailer for next year’s live-action adaptation of Snow White last week. I haven’t seen anyone talking about it, but I’m just traveling in the wrong circles, I guess. People have been trashing this trailer since it dropped.

To be fair, the CGI dwarves and scenery look awful. But the internet being what it is, people are also using this as an opportunity to call Rachel Zegler “ugly” in comparison to Gal Gadot, who plays the evil Queen. There’s no planet in the universe where either of these women is ugly. So, everyone needs to shut up about that immediately.

Some people have also told Zegler that she should die, a very extreme reaction to a movie remake. And Gal Gadot has been on the receiving end of personal and religious attacks since being cast. All very normal reactions to a children’s movie being released. Good job, everyone.

Snow White also stars Ansu Kabia (Miss Scarlet & The Duke) as The Huntsman, Andrew Burnap (Under The Banner Of Heaven) as Jonathan, and Martin Klebba (Pirates of the Caribbean) as Grumpy.

Snow White opens in theaters on March 21, 2025.

Mary-Louise Parker and Ayo Edebiri have been cast in a time-travel movie and it makes me wish we could go back in time and cast Ayo in Weeds.

Omni Loop is about a quantum physicist (Parker) who has one week to live because there’s a black hole growing in her chest. Ayo Edebiri plays the gifted student she enlists to help save her life. Everything about this sounds perfect. No notes.

Omni Loop opens in theaters on September 20th.

Woman Of The Hour is not what I was expecting from Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, but she gives off the vibe that she’s a fan of true-crime podcasts so it makes some sense. I’m mostly surprised it’s not some boring mumble-core nonsense.

Along with Kendrick, Woman Of The Hour also stars Tony Hale, Daniel Zovatto (The Pope’s Exorcist), Kelley Jakle (the Pitch Perfect franchise), Jedidiah Goodacre (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), and Nicolette Robinson (One Night In Miami).

It will be in theaters beginning September 8th.

For this week’s lagniappe, I’m back to the absurdity that is constantly swirling around us in the shadows of under-utilized streaming apps with this banger from Down Under. On a continent where 99% of the wildlife can kill you, no one would see a murderous kangaroo coming. Just kidding, I hear they’re real jerks.
