Selena Quintanilla and Chris Perez would be celebrating 26 years of marriage on April 2nd, but unfortunately, because evil exists in the world, Selena's life was cut short just two days before their third anniversary.
Despite the tragic incident on March 31, 1995, that took from us one of the best Latina artists in history, Selena's legacy is stronger than ever. It's so strong that even today's generation looks up to her for everything she embodied—a fearless, empowering, and transparent human being. She's never forgotten and Perez's recent post is proof that real love is eternal.
On Selena's 23rd death anniversary, Perez, who remarried and divorced years after the singer's passing, shared a heartfelt post that's totally relatable.
"Although we all have our trials and tribulations that we have to go through in this life...we MUST be thankful for the ones that we meet along the way...that made us realize...love is REAL...love is UNCONDITIONAL...love NEVER DIES. #MyCoco," he said, sharing a rare photo of the couple in their early 20s.
This isn't the first time the 48-year-old Grammy-winning musician uses social media to express his never-ending love for the Queen of Tejano. We feel, however, that dates such as March 31st and April 2nd are two back-to-back dates where he reminiscents the most, and same, TBH!
