Do you love Halloween but hate scary movies?
You can still participate in one of the holiday's most basic traditions—the scary movie marathon—with these Halloween-focused but not super scary movies.
1. Hocus Pocus
Three sister witches come back to life after 300 years and cause all kinds of chaos in the already spooky town of Salem, Massachusetts. Hilarity ensues.
A town where it's Halloween all the time serves as the backdrop for this OG Disney Channel movie.
3. The Addams Family
This classic movie lets you get to know the most morbid family in Hollywood history.
4. Edward Scissorhands
You're going to want to be Edward's BFFAE after this one. Avon calling!
5. The Nightmare Before Christmas
Because what other movie works for both Halloween AND Christmas?
6. Corpse Bride
This guy was just chillin', practicing his wedding vows in the forest (as one does), when he accidentally married a corpse. Whoops.
A ghost couple wants to get rid of the humans in their house, so they ask Beetlejuice for help. Don't say his name three times. We're serious.
How adorable is Casper, really? His whole life is an identity crisis, and you'll love it.
9. Any of the Harry Potter Movies
Ok so technically HP isn't a Halloween movie, but the Wizarding World is whimsical enough that it doesn't have to be. Plus, you'll love how magical Halloween is in the Great Hall.
10. Warm Bodies
This movie about a zombie boy that learns to ~feel~ again is seriously underrated. Check it out.
11. The Phantom of the Opera
Again, not Halloween but TOTALLY eerie. This musical-turned-movie will definitely hit you in the feels and you'll be humming the soundtrack for days.
12. Dark Shadows
An evil witch turns the guy she loves into a vampire in 1752, buries him underground, and he pops back up over 200 years later. The usual.
13. Hotel Transylvania
All the scary legends you grew up fearing aren't as scary as you thought. They're also all real and go on vacays at Dracula's super scary mansion resort.
14. Mom's Got A Date With A Vampire
Mom goes on a date with a vampire. Kids need to stop him from turning her into one. Believe it or not, this was on the Disney channel and scared the ish out of us when we were kids. And we might still find it to be a little scary as an adult!
15. Monster House
The real reason why this house is haunted will break your heart, mark my words.
The fake mom in this movie will actually give you nightmares. Or is that just us? It may just be us. Let us know.
17. The Haunted Mansion
Eddie Murphy does a Disney classic. 'Nuff said.
