It's a bright and beautiful day out, and your friends invite you to the beach. You're ready to rock that new bikini, but there's one problem—you haven't shaved.
Shaving your lady bits can be tedious and painful if you don't do it right. However, there are several tips that can help you get smooth, silky skin, sans ingrown hairs and cuts.
#6 Always use a new razor
After shaving with a disposable razor, you'll want to throw that baby away. You won't want to shave your intimate area with a dirty or dull razor, as it can cause infection and won't give you a close shave. If you are using one of those fancy Venus razors, wash it and wipe it clean after using it. You MIGHT get away with using those more than once.
Also, wider razors are always better, as they can help remove more hair.
#5 Do not use soap
Instead, try using special shaving gels, oils, and aloe vera. These will give you a closer shave, and leave your skin feeling super smooth.
#4 Water can help
The best time to shave is at the end of your shower because the steam from the hot water will help open pores of the skin. This helps you shave easier, soften the follicles, and helps keep pores open and clean.
#3 Try your outfit on beforehand
Whether it's a bikini, some short shorts, or another type of outfit, you can try it on before to know just how much you have to shave. If you're just doing it so you can be smooth for the beach, there's no reason to have to shave the entire area.
#2 Choose the right time to shave
Before shaving, make sure you take a look at your intimate area. If you have any kind of rash, pimple, or wound, you'll want to wait until it heals. If you don't you can end up aggravating it and making the wound worse.
#1 Pay close attention to the blade
Maybe you've got a million things on your mind, but while you're trying to shave, you need all your concentration. Be sure to pass the blade firmly over your lady parts, and be sure to take extra caution at dips and curves. Don't hold too tightly or apply too much pressure when shaving.
Follow these six tips the next time you shave and you'll be super thrilled with the result!
