Sumo Science broke the world record with its bigest stop-motion animation. The project was shot entirely witha 12-megapixel cellphone camera on a Nokia N8 and it was set on11,000 m2 of sand on South Wales’ Pendine Beach.

Props included a real actor wearing a rain-jacket and a full scale boat, telling the story of a fisherman at sea.

This short is the hard work of a large team that created the seascape in the sand along with the inside of a whale’s belly viwed from above. The whole scene was shot with a large crane located above the beach and the images werecompiled to run at 25 frames per second to createthe stop-motion effect.
