Don't Come For Serena Williams in Front of Her Husband

Kendrick Lamar performed at the Super Bowl halftime show and further ruined Drake’s life, smiling straight into the camera as he said that Canadian invader likes them young. To further destroy Aubrey, he brought out Serena Williams to crip-walk over his grave. Drake previously dated Serena, then made weird comments about her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, in one of his songs. So, of course Kendrick had to tell Drake to keep Compton’s finest athlete’s name out of his mouth.

Ohanian, the world’s happiest trophy husband, loved the performance.

Others, however, were total weirdos about it. Step forward Stephen A. Smith, the sports commentator who I largely know from memes (crab rangoon, things of that nature.) On ESPN, Smith said, ‘If I’m married and my wife is going to join trolling her ex, go back to his ass. ‘Cause clearly you don’t belong with me. What you worried about him for and you’re with me? Bye. Bye.’

Dude, what the hell are you talking about? Why would your wife taking the piss out of her crappy ex be a sign that she’s not committed to her relationship? Imagine being so insecure that mocking Drake of all people would make you go, ‘Ugh, you’re not paying enough attention to me.’ Total nonsense. Men, stop it.

Ohanian had no time for this silliness and took to Twitter to let the haters know it.

As Ohanian reminded people, Williams had been lambasted by the press and sports world when she danced in celebration during Wimbledon. One Fox Sports creep said that what she did ‘was akin to cracking a tasteless, X-rated joke inside a church.’ Williams’ entire tennis career, one where she became one of the greatest athletes of all time and rewrote the rule book, was treated as a racist joke by many. She faced racism from the crowds, from her opponents, from commentators and more. The double standards were ceaseless. Even after her retirement, there are still mediocre white dudes ranting about her legacy and how they could totally beat her in a set.

So, Alexis is out there letting the world know that his wife is better than you and he’s proud to be her cheerleader. Shake those pom-poms, Alexis!
